Program Leader and HCPM Instructor
Pristine is an internationally educated nurse who is currently registered with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). She obtained her degree in Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Philippines and later decided to move to Canada as an international student. Pristine attended and successfully completed her post graduate certificate in Nursing at MTI Community College in Vancouver, BC. She then practiced as a nurse, working with older adults and clients with cognitive impairment, and eventually moved to research. Pristine has been teaching at Sterling College since 2018 and is passionate about imparting her knowledge and expertise to the next generation of nursing leaders. She hopes to continue guiding internationally educated nurses in pursuing their nursing goals in Canada.

I firmly believe that every student deserves guidance, encouragement, and a teacher who truly believes in their potential to turn their aspirations into reality. My educational background includes a post-graduate IT diploma (2 years) from CNC College and a CCNA certification, along with a Master’s degree in Computer Science (2 years) and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Application (3 years). My aim is to be a teacher who fosters an environment of support, assistance, and kindness, helping students realize their full potential.

Hi, I am Manpreet Kaur Dhaliwal. Currently, I am working as an IT instructor at Sterling College. My highest qualification is Masters of Technology in System Software specialization. I did my post graduate diploma in web development and also participated in full stack web development bootcamp that helped me to upgrade my technical skillset. I have combined background as an IT instructor and a web developer. I worked as a Digital Advanced Technology instructor at SAIT college, Calgary, Alberta. I am detail oriented person and teaching is my passion.. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge with others.

Garvita Kapur

Nurse
Garvita is a highly accomplished Registered Nurse, boasting an extensive background in Maternal-Newborn care with a notable specialization in Neonatal Care (NICU). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Langara College in Vancouver, followed by her successful pursuit and completion of a Masters of Nursing with a specialization in Teaching from Athabasca University in Alberta. Throughout her career, Garvita has demonstrated unwavering dedication in providing care for at-risk women within a specialized unit at one of British Columbia's largest hospitals. Furthermore, she has skillfully delivered family-centered care to new parents, guiding them through the early stages of parenthood with empathy and expertise. Garvita's inherent optimism and her fervent desire to impart knowledge are the cornerstones of her teaching career, which spans the past two years at Sterling College. Her instructional portfolio includes courses such as Maternal Child Health, which comprehensively covers the prenatal and postpartum periods while delving into pediatrics. She also imparts knowledge in the field of Gerontology, focusing on the Canadian geriatric population and addressing the physical, mental, and social changes that accompany the aging process. Garvita's passion for teaching extends beyond the classroom as she actively engages with her students, understanding their unique stories and assisting them in integrating into the Canadian HealthCare system. Her commitment to the field of nursing education and her genuine interest in her students' success make her an asset to Sterling College and the healthcare community at large.

Indira Fernandez

Health Care and Practice & Management Instructor
Indira has vast experience working in the healthcare field for 11 years. She started her nursing career as a Licensed Practical Nurse for several years focused on client education in Community Health; and most recently as a Clinical Site Lead and Registered Nurse in Public Health and as a Forensic Nurse Examiner. Her degree in Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing came from Langara College and she has further training and education certificates in Psychiatric Nursing of Children and Adolescents and in Forensic Nursing Science. She has worked with clients of different backgrounds and from marginalized groups, with a variety of life-altering medical conditions. Indira is passionate in empowering future nurses by sharing her knowledge and providing the leadership needed to implement evidence-based nursing practice needed to strengthen the future of the nursing profession.

Sophie Kaur

Business Administration Instructor
Sophie has worked in the education industry for over 10 years. She earned a Bachelor of Engineering and a Master of Business Management from the University of Salford. Her experiences include working with diverse groups of students in the U.K., China, and now Canada. She encourages her students to think outside the four walls of the classroom. Sophie believes the world is a place of learning and discovery.

Mehrdad Zaeri

Administration Instructor
Software Development & Network Mehrdad has been specialized in IT and network for more than 13 years. He has 2 master’s degrees: Computer Science from the University Putra and Cybersecurity from the New York Institute of Technology. The work that Mehrdad has done has taken him all over the world, not just as a Network Technician, but also in the field of Systems Administration. Despite his great passion for IT, he confesses to being devoted to teaching it to the next generation, as well as preparing them for that career.

Mari Karimi

Health Care and Practice & Management Instructor
Mari is an expert in gerontology nursing as well as medical surgical nursing with over 10 years experience. After completing her Bachelor and Master of Nursing degrees, she has a strong desire to improve patient care and to share her experiences with nursing students. “I look forward to the opportunity of teaching and learning with my students and clients,” she says.
